Re: In your opinion
Wed, April 28, 2004 - 3:51 PMso are you on the fence about whether dj shadow's stuff is hiphop?
it is, just primarily instrumental, and more abstrakt... -

Re: In your opinion
Fri, April 30, 2004 - 5:26 AMwell...I am on the fence...DJ Shadow is fucking brilliant, but he doesnt have that groove that makes you nod your head like straight hiphop...but he has his own groove which is awesome...Pete Rock has an instrumental album which was a little more straight hiphop, but I thought it was oaky/good... -

Re: In your opinion
Fri, April 30, 2004 - 6:42 AMIs that question for everybody?
I love it. It's a big departure from his earlier stuff, but no less amazing. You can't go home again (or whatever it's called) is one of Shadow's best tracks ever, and there are some awesome cuts on there. -

Fri, April 30, 2004 - 1:45 PMI love Shadow's stuff, but he really pushes the edge of what hiphop is in the most positive way possible! -

Re: In your opinion
Fri, April 30, 2004 - 2:07 PMI think wearing gold paint and wings pushes the edge of what hiphop is.
I believe the groove robbers was some of the first he produced circa 92 or so.
